Wave Hill Agate designer gem cabochon 8/11/2019 01 - 47 x 25 x 3.4 mm - 28 carats - This is my favorite agate to cut and this cab is made from very gemmy rough with the most lively and dramatic parallax (aka shadow) effect I've seen. Parallax, rare in most agates, is a play of light that creates an illusion that looks similar to chatoyance in Tigereye. This agate comes from the Northern Territory badlands of Australia and is rare enough that it's truly difficult to get. Thanks to Terry Maple for this wonderful rough. This stunningly beautiful paisley flame shaped cabochon is one of the prettiest Wave Hill cabs I've cut. It sports a very low, beautifully rounded dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all with outstanding liquid high gloss luster. This is one Super nice gem. Here is a video clip to see the stone and it's parallax in motion: https://youtu.be/vul3HwiIcrs  $148.00 shipped to USA - paypal SOLD
