Rare Red Howardite aka Rattlesnake Jasper gem 8/6/2019 01 - 41 x 14 x 5.7 mm - 19 carats - This beautiful cab is cut from one of the most rare and sought after semi-precious stones in the world. The material is said to be an agatized/silicified/opalized tuff of which the location of the deposit is was lost or mined out, but a few recent discoveries have been made. It comes from northern Nevada and is one of the rarest lapidary materials available while this red color is truly the rare of the rare. This unique freeform marquis cabochon has a beautiful high dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all with high gloss luster. This stone represents the least flawed Howardite cab I've cut to date. It has an outstanding surface with nearly no undercutting, all too common in Howardite. Here is a video clip to see the stone in motion: https://youtu.be/mXQ2wfAWN4g  $139.00 shipped to USA - paypal SOLD
