Boulder Dam Flower Jasper designer gem 8/11/2018 01 - 59 x 25 x 4.2 mm - 41 carats - Here's something you've probably never seen. Dug by my 1st lapidary teacher Ed Rupprecht, purchased from his estate through Jason Fabbi and Jaen Rupprecht, Ed's lovely widow. Thank you! I have not been able to find any info online about this stone so it may be an Ed exclusive. Certainly a very rare rock. This was cut from a single small rough piece labeled "Boulder Dam Flower Jasper", Jason said Ed dug it on the Arizona side of the (now called) "Hoover" Dam near Vegas / Boulder City. This designer flame cabochon has a nicely rounded low dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all with imperfect but beautiful glossy luster. Here's a short video clip to see the stone in motion: $160.00 shipped to USA - paypal
