Apache Chrysocolla freeform gem 4/29 01 - 25 x 14 x 3.4 mm -
11 carats - This pretty little gem is cut from one of the
most beautiful and rare stone I know of. I consider Apache
Chrysocolla as the holy grail of chrysocolla. It is said to
come from an old worked out copper mine in Mexico and there
is nothing I know of that is quite like it. This stunning,
very rare stone is made up of many different minerals
including Chrysocolla, Malachite, Shattuckite, Turquoise,
Calcite, Cuperite, Hematite, Quartz, Linarite, Silver and
even Gold. Many years ago it made the cover of Rock and Gem
magazine. These days there is very little of this on the
market and the price has skyrocketed. This is old, high
grade material. The color and patterns are unique. This
colorful stone has all of the colors, metallics and patterns
that make this material so popular. This cabochon has a low
rounded low dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all
with a glossy and metallic luster. Here is a video clip to
see the stone in motion: https://youtu.be/5-b4TOC1i6E $69.00
