Lightning Ridge is historically the highest priced and most desirable opal in the world. This is a solid opal cabochon I cut in 2006. I've held onto it for 12 years. It has a bright and lively, multi color pin fire in an unusual semi-black, smokey, semi-crystal base that is best seen in real life. The fire is best seen in motion and it's better than the photos show.
