carats - This is my favorite agate to cut in the world and
this gem is cut from a very gemmy and translucent piece with
the most lively and dramatic parallax (aka shadow) effect
I've seen in any agate. Parallax, rare in Wave Hill and most
other agates, is a play of light that creates an illusion
that looks similar to chatoyance in Tigereye. This agate
comes from the Northern Territory badlands of Australia and
is rare enough that it's difficult to get. Thanks to Terry
Maple for this wonderful rough. This stunning and beautiful
freeform drop marquis cabochon is a pleasure to hold and
behold. It sports a very low, beautifully rounded dome,
girdled sides and a flat beveled back all with excellent
