Marfa Plume &
Bouquet agate designer gem 10/17/2016 01 - 42 x 33 x 5.4 mm
- 38 carats - Texas has some of the most beautiful stones in
the world. This rare plume and bouquet agate comes from
Marfa and is one of my favorite materials. This big, bold
and gemmy treasure is exotic even for Marfa, with delicate
three dimensional black and white plumes and flowers
suspended in near transparent agate with a beautiful nearly
fortification with a play of light called parallax - also
known as "shadow". This gem has a high, beautifully rounded
dome, girdled sides and flat beveled back all with high
gloss luster. This one just makes me happy. There a some
subtle surface imperfections around the inclusions but they
are almost not noticeable and do not detract from the beauty
